Partial coverage

Check a Spanish company – current coverage

For Spanish companies, we validate EU VAT numbers through VIES and look for conflicts across identity, domain, messages and payment details.

Your input stays in this browser until the private check form opens.

Official source

VIES; Registro Mercantil not yet connected

Accepted identifiers

  • Spanish VAT number (NIF-IVA)
  • Company name, website, email, phone and IBAN

Checks performed

What the result can verify

  • EU VAT validity through VIES
  • Domain, HTTPS, DNS and contact details
  • Consistency across the company, offer, invoice and payment instructions

Country-specific risks

Signals worth checking

  • The VAT number is valid but the name or address differs from the invoice
  • The seller uses Spanish company details while the account or contact points abroad
  • A newly registered domain copies the identity of an existing Spanish company

Before payment

Practical next steps

  1. Submit the VAT number, website address and payment details together
  2. Compare the VIES name with the invoice and website operator
  3. If details conflict, avoid bank transfer and request verifiable evidence

Questions and answers

Checking a company in Spain

Does VerifyBeforeBuy check a Spanish NIF in the national register?

Not automatically yet. We validate EU VAT through VIES and assess technical, contact and payment signals; the national register is explicitly reported as not connected.

Does a valid VAT number make the offer safe?

No. A valid VAT number confirms a tax identifier, not that the website, account or person belongs to that company.

Coverage limitation

Colegio de Registradores provides public data and paid extracts, but we have not confirmed a stable interface for exact automated NIF checks. The result therefore reports partial coverage.
