Partial coverage

Check a Dutch company – current coverage

For the Netherlands, we validate EU VAT numbers through VIES and assess available technical, contact, payment and document signals.

Your input stays in this browser until the private check form opens.

Official source

VIES; KVK API not yet connected

Accepted identifiers

  • Dutch VAT number (btw-id)
  • Name, address, website and contacts

Checks performed

What the result can verify

  • EU VAT validity through VIES
  • Domain, HTTPS, DNS, contacts and payment instructions
  • Conflicts across offers, documents and messages

Country-specific risks

Signals worth checking

  • A valid Dutch VAT number is paired with a different website or trading name
  • The seller requests payment to an account with no evidenced company link
  • A new domain copies KVK details from an established Dutch business

Before payment

Practical next steps

  1. Submit the VAT number, website and payment details together
  2. Compare the VIES identity with the invoice and website operator
  3. Use protected payment when the company-to-account link is unclear

Questions and answers

Checking a company in Netherlands

Does VerifyBeforeBuy search the Dutch Handelsregister?

Not automatically yet. KVK API access is paid and not connected, so the result only reports VIES and global checks as performed.

Can a valid Dutch VAT number still be misused?

Yes. Fraudsters can copy a real company's identifiers, which is why the domain, contacts, invoice and bank account must also agree.

Coverage limitation

Automated Handelsregister checks require paid KVK API access and are not active yet. The result therefore reports partial coverage.
